Does the "Standby" mode of the Emotiva amps, keep the amp powered up or at least warm? Or is it just an on-off switch?
I know the main power switch is in the back, but what does the standby mode actually do? Anything?
Thanks!

Standby mode keeps some current to the amp so it is not entirely on but drawing some current.

In standby mode, the standby power supply remains active, but the main circuitry of the amp is off. (So it doesn't draw significant power or remain "warmed up" in standby.)
In our other products, like pre/pros, which offer IR remote control capabilities, the standby supply operates the circuitry which "listens" for the On command.

If there was no standby power we wouldn't get the beautiful amber lights on the amps.

how about the airmotive speakers: when there is no audio input and they r on, do they draw as much power? can we keep em on all the time. the blue light on speaker doe snot change color ever. unless turned off of course.

I've owned hundreds of amps and never recall them having anything other than an off and an on, so I have always left the amps on all time. Do you know how much current draw (watts) the XPA-1Ls have in standby versus full on? Can I just leave them on all the time?

The Airmotiv speakers don't auto-power-on or sense music.... when you turn them On they're just On (but they're Class A/B so they simply don't draw much power or get very hot when they're idling). how about the airmotive speakers: when there is no audio input and they r on, do they draw as much power? can we keep em on all the time. the blue light on speaker doe snot change color ever. unless turned off of course.
