Looked at all our CMX units this morning while cleaning around the hifi & ht & saw one of the CMX-2 units led's showing an open ground on a 20 amp 120v line , i hit thr reset button & it wasnt popped so i got my voltage testers out , my testers showed the line to be perfect with no open ground issues .
This got me thinking that maybe my tester wasnt right so i grabbed another cmx unit not in use & plugged it into the outlet , this cmx-2 shows the same as my tester that there are zero line defects , so just to be sure i plugged the cmx-6 powering the pre/pro & source into the outlet & it too shows line correct with led #1 & 2 light up , so my tester shows proper , a cmx-6 shows proper & a spare cmx-2 shows proper which only leaves me with the cmx-2 in question is faulty , every outlet i plug that one cmx-2 into shows open ground even on a gfci afci line where its impossible to have an open ground & not know .
I replaced the faulty cmx-2 with a spare but im wondering if the unit is still safe to operate , and if its still able to perform its intended functions , to be on the fair side with Emotiva the cmx-2 in question was dropped from 5ft to a hard wood floor last time i cleaned behind the ht system in this home last year , any thoughts ?

Quite possibly an LED has gone out?

See now i actually used my tester on the cmx outlets & plugged the cmx-6 into it & both showed proper ground , i was so focused on thinking i damaged it when i dropped it the bad bulb deal never crossed my mind , im pretty sure thats all it is but im still going to check the bulb after dinner , thank you .
