Ok, I know there are lots of great things being said about this unit. I know mine works great in both 5 and 2 channel, but The thing for me is the difference between the Denon 110wpc by itself and with the XPA-5 200wpc. I can tell you that it sounds way better but that could just be me wanting to justify the money I spent.
The thing that tells me it's not just me is that I ran the Denon Audssey setup after I put the XPA-5 on and when it finished my surrounds, which are JBL L830's went from Small with the Denon alone to large with the XPA-5.
This is proof it's not just me and that the XPA-5 is making a difference.

I don't think any one here would question that you hear a difference. Most of us have been there. Grins and all. It's a handful of folks over on the AVS that don't trust how the ear works and how the brain processes sound that want numbers.

You know we can't accept any opinions without double blind test data for 'proof'. Nice review...I have a 2809 so it's nice to see reviews with similar equipment - thanks!

What front speakers are you running with your set-up mikeronesia? Right now I'm using a combo of a JBL L8400's with JBL PT800's. The 84's are 600watt nominal powered 12" sealed subs. I have the speaker wire going into them and then it splits the signal and sends anything above 120hz to the PT800's which I have mounted on top of them. The PT800's receive all of the amp power via the pass through from the sub. I love these things! ;D I also have a JBL LC2 center.

Yes, I built it but will be doing another one as the XPA-5 is about an inch too deep and I need to add some doors to cover the ugly stuff. The tv is a 850. We have concrete walls so to hide the wires I built the box around the tv. I added some shadow boxes with LEDs for my wife and built in the Wii sensor bar under the tv. Here is the whole thing.
