Hi people,
I really hope someone here can help me. I have some persistant problems updating the firmware of my UMC-200. I believe in "if it ain't broke, dont fix it". The reason I want to update, is because I have a problem with my cable box connected to the UMC goes berserk. It enters a reboot loop, regardless of what is was doing, the video output of the UMC-200 drops out intermittently, once about every 5 seconds. Emotiva has transferred warranty to me (I got it second hand), but have unfortunately otherwise not been very helpful up to this point. They replied with something along the lines of "this can happen". I hope they'll come up with more help shortly. In absense of Emotiva support, I thought I'd try to update to firmware v.47. I currently run v.32.
Anyway, I tried to perform the update at my friend's house, since I have an iMac.
I installed everything according to the update instructions, installed USB-driver 3.3, seemed to work fine. UMC was connected and recognized properly. First three packages installed fine. Fourt package (the actual firmware), fails.
When I try again, it fails again. And again, and again.
I tried repeating the update process from step one, but right away after installing module one (DSP2-code), the UMC-200 gives an error after restart. There seems to be an error loading the DSP-2 code, followed by a long series of numbers. After that, it tells me to "restore to v3.11". According to the update-program, the version number of my DSP-2 code is 0.00. ? The next two modules install fine, the actual firmware keeps failing.
All messages after booting:
"ERROR! DSP2 code not match!
"ERROR! DSP2 code 20121015140244"
"Warning! DSP code mismatch-please correct. 3.11"
"ERROR! OSD-Flash Not Match!"
"Please upgrade main CPU"
Which is what I was attempting to do...
I don't know what to do next. Can anyone help me? I'd hate to have screwed up my UMC-200.
Thanks!
[edit]: The OSD-code is the largest file of all, but it loads into the UMC-200 quickest of all, less than two seconds. That can't be right...
The update file I have, is the one I found a link to on these boards: version UMC-200_v1_520247_20130917 (2.539 kB)
