Does the 93 output DSD bitstream from both HDMI outputs? Actually I'm not sure as I use HDMI 1, since it takes advantage of the Marvell QDEO processing as well. Good question though, and I'll find out for you in just a few short minutes. ........and the answer is, Yes. I just swapped outputs and the XMC-1 sees SACD's in the DSD format on HDMI 2. I also checked to see if HDMI 2 had to be set as the "Primary Output", and it doesn't matter. Apparently "Primary Output" only matters when choosing the Marvel QDEO video processing, so for this HDMI 1 has to be chosen.

MAybe the 4k upscaling had something to do with it. I did find and interview with Oppo over at Audioholics and found this: "The HDMI transmitter in the Qdeo video processor that drives the HDMI 1 port does not support DSD audio". But they don't go into why which is odd since the 93 doesn't have a problem doing it.

I always have loud trumps when try to play dsd after pcm or vice versa. Very annoying issue , had reported it to support after 3.1 firmware but still no fix Between my eyes and your typing, I just got an image of Donald Trump popping up on your TV, *really really LOUD* when all you wanted to do was pop in an SACD after your "porn" ended... Think I'm gonna go look for my glasses now...

Help with CEC.
.- Always worked good. .-Stopped yesterday. .- Chain is as follows: OPPO 103D---------------->XMC-1------------->PANASONIC VT60 PLASMA.
HDMI cables checked. CEC configuration OK in OPPO XMC-1 and PLASMA. When chain is from OPPO directly to PLASMA, its working without problems. Factory reset done to XMC-1 but still the same.
Any ideas?
If this is not the correct Thread to ask, please tell me where. Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the CEC settings on the XMC-1? (I don't know exactly what the best settings would be for your system - but the Factory Reset will reset them). Menu --> Setup --> HDMI CEC Help with CEC. .- Always worked good. .-Stopped yesterday. .- Chain is as follows: OPPO 103D---------------->XMC-1------------->PANASONIC VT60 PLASMA. HDMI cables checked. I was using CEC without problems till a couple of days ago. I understand its configuration, and had all enabled except "audio to tv" option.

Are we ever going to see a 3.1 manual? There were new features and improved functionality that need documenting.

Just tried updating to 3.1a (from 3.0 afaik). XMC doesn't recognize the USB stick (formatted FAT32 using Windows), I just drop the dat file into the root of the USB stick right? gyazo.com/fef13d2857c47dd531f87874fb15cb26Any reason this doesn't work? I think I've updated my XMC with the same stick in the past.

This will do a complete R/W test of the stick, but takes a bit of time.

The iOS app is written by a third party. The developer has his own support and feedback channel.... so please pass complaints and suggestions directly on to him. When a DSD signal comes into the XMC-1 it is routed directly to the DAC by the HDMI switch; we do not process it in any way. There's not much there we can change, and we have no updates planned to the way the XMC-1 handles DSD. (Luckily, it seems to work quite well the way it is for the majority of our customers who use DSD.) There will be another firmware update when the new HDMI 2.0 board is released. This update will be for ALL XMC-1's, whether they receive the HDMI upgrade board or not. We expect to update the manual to go along with that release. so when will ever see the DSD bug fixed and the iOS app sorted properly for all iPads etc for that matter

The Android App is also third party - from the same developer as the iOS app. The firmware update will be required to support the new board. Other than that, it contains a few small improvements to the XMC-1 itself, but nothing worth talking about. HOWEVER, we're planning to release the Windows Remote Control and Remote Setup apps at the same time.... which is rather exciting. (Note that I said "planning to" - so that isn't an actual promise yet... STAY TUNED.)
