Update went smooothly.
So far the clip at the beginning of the track is gone for me.
Thx Emo...
New Thread Perhaps?
Edit: SACD is silent for me during stops, pauses. No digi noise in my system.

Will the XMC with firmware 3.1 still be able to read the old config file format?

Update was flawless
Listening to Nora Jones from my Oppo 105 as I type in DSD5.1, no pops or crackles during startup or stopping during tracks.
Looking good so far.

I don't know if this was on Emotiva's list but I hope 3.1 will get rid of my pops and snaps when locking on to an audio stream. The noise is pretty loud sometimes.

Will the XMC with firmware 3.1 still be able to read the old config file format? Good question. However I did a backup before and after because that's just SOP for me... I've become obsessive-compulsive I guess..

All good so far with 3.1. Install was a breeze....I still remember the UMC days...argh. The biggest positive so far in my setup is that my Zone 2 volume issues on the iOS remote app have now been resolved. It works perfectly. VERY NICE !

The osd flickering on my display is gone as well as the annoying pops and clicks when the audio stream changes. Super happy, update went flawless. I always back up my settings and do a factory reset after updates, just to be sure..

Update went very smooth as always with the XMC-1. DSD thumping is gone.

Update smooth as usual. I don't do DSD but my audio breakup on track changes and DVR motion is GONE.
Also, no sign of OSD ghosting so far...looks good.
And finally... I was one of the users with missing input names on the IOS app. That is fixed under 3.1.
Looks like the wait was worth it. Nice work Lonnie, Ray and the software team.

Mine is flawless also. But I was one of the lucky few that had 3.1 beta released to me a while back. So I have had more time with it. I realize that the date is different on this official release. Wonder if anything has been tweeked?

I spoke too soon.. still have the popping occasionally when the audio stream changes. Example going from truehd to regular Dolby. It popped. It not frequent like before and it was a single pop, not 3-4 like previously occurring nastiness.

Wonder if anything has been tweeked? I would think since they said they found problems with the beta, that some things have been fixed. I kind of expected them to call it 3.1x at release, but I guess the date is all that distinguishes it from the beta.

The flashing txt is gone now! My sanity is returning. Great work Emotiva.
After the update, I now have 2 backup files on my USB stick that I did not notice before doing updates with previous firmwares. Both are 115KB. "avrUserLocal" and "avrUserLocalBackup" I take it these are for us to keep handy as a backup of the config? Were they only created as I had already plugged the USB stick in before I did the backup? They are still on the XMC-1 too as well?

It's a good idea to make a backup of your configuration periodically. The XMC will make a backup in it's internal memory if you start a backup with no thumb drive in the USB port.

I just hope the non playing of any audio from hdmi (oppo) when the tv is off is sorted too...as it always happens this firmware comes out when I'm away from home as I'm traveling the next 5 days in Malaysia. Might get a chance to try on one of my 2 xmc's as I run out the door in a few hours.

Emotiva should consider implementing a md5 hash check in the XMC on a future release to prevent a user from flashing a corrupt file. That is my only observation on the upgrade routine. Everything else went ok.
