Probably gonna get flamed for asking this question but anyone know what's happening with the XPR line? I am sure I'm late to the party but why is there's only one XPR amp on the site now. There were 2 on there a few days ago. As an owner of the XPR-5 just curious.
Thanks

There has been no announcement regarding its replacement.

I sure hope they have a replacement. I want to grab a XPR-1 for my centre channel eventually.

Gentalmen, this is how I see it. The XPR line of amps ARE huge, they should most likely be packed and created and palleted before shipments go out. This would raise the cost to a prohibitively high amount, of which most wouldn't want to pay for sight unseen. Ive seen them, own a couple and know that it is worth the extra for shipping to make sure they get where they're going without damage. I imagine the cost to the manufacturer (Emotiva) is hight due to damage before arriving at the customers door, all of which they would have to eat and have no sale. Thats alot to ask anybody. These thoughts are solely my own and i have no iside information and am not affiliated with Emotiva in any way. It is a shame, but they're gone.

I agree with DYohn in saying "Yet". What originally drew me to Emotiva(back in the waning days of AV123) were the IPS/MPS/RPA amps. When these were no longer offered I was left wishing I had bought one. When the XPR line came out, I said to myself "not again" and jumped at the introductory prices at an EmoFest. Any how, I'm sure Dan and Company have something up their sleeves to replace these Reference level amplifiers with, and if I'm remembering correctly we'll hear more about this and other subjects of interest sometime early in the upcoming new year.

I used to own the Parasound Halo A51 and A21 amps but sold them and moved away from high end audio for a little bit. I couldn't believe the spec to price ratio of the XPR line when I got back in and jumped all over the XPR-5. Sad to hear but I too expect they'll replace the line.

Official word from Emotiva:
"Thank you for your interest in Emotiva! Unfortunately, our XPR amplifiers are an end of life line and we have sold through all remaining stock of the XPR-5 and XPR-1. We do, however, still have some remaining stock of the XPR-2 still available. We do intend on releasing another high-power amplifier line, however, we do not have any details on future products at this time."

If I remember correctly weren't they working on some class D amps? I seem to recall multiple channel, smaller, lighter weight amps to be put into racks. I am telling you folks my Theta Dreadnaught D amp blows my Krell Chorus amp away. To my ears their is just no comparison. The Chorus is much more fatiguing, but with cymbals that sound almost fake in comparison. The Dreadnaught D has a smooth sound with music that floats in the air. My system has never sounded so real. Brass instruments sound real. The hammers hitting the strings of a piano are not only heard, but felt. If Emotiva makes something like this to match the new XMR processor I would say it would be a good thing. Cost less to ship. Much easier to move around. Much easier on the electric bill. And to me the most important thing is that they sound great.

If Emotiva makes something like this to match the new XMR processor I would say it would be a good thing. I predict the new Reference lineup will consist of fully-balanced ("quad differential") amps to match with the XMR, which Emo has confirmed will be fully-balanced on all channels. Without a fully-balanced multichannel amp, all of the sonic benefits of the XMR's balanced channels will be lost. Surely Emo would not want to send XMR customers out the door to purchase a matching amp! The demise of the XPR line has driven rampant speculation about Emo going out of business. Let's give the company a break, at least until the CES show in January, before writing its obituary.

It stands to reason that Emotiva would not go through the trouble and expense to expand it's operation in Franklin if it was planning to go out of business. They could have simply left manufacturing over seas and just not place anymore orders with the vendors. Another point to consider is how many other Emotiva products have been an end of life line. Despite this the company has continued to flourish. Dan and the team will let us know what's next when the time is right.

i would love to know what might be coming next since i made my decision to buy the XPR-1's a day too late.
but…………
Dan and company have been burned too many times by releasing news of their plans too early and then the forum going crazy when the product doesn't appear as expected. i really hope they release a successor to the xpr-1 in the new year. i am ready for a super-mega-watt-mono block. my speculation (totally uneducated guess) would be that they will release an XPR-1, gen 2 that operates in class A for 120 watts and then shifts to class AB for the rest of the 1000 watts at 8 ohms.
one can hope……………
