Just picked up these bad boys at my UPS distribution center. Drool, drool, drool ; )..... Not only are the XPA-1Ls great amps, they're very easy to move.

Holy Moses. They're sweet. And even though my room is crappy (lots of storage in the process of being cleaned up) the quality of the sound was palpable, the clarity improvement was instantaneous and the sound stage opened up Attachments:

35 watts of fully balanced class A will do that. There is not a single other product in the world that can do the XPA-1 L can do at (anwhere) near its price point. I think the closest one happens to be the big boy XPA-1's! Emotiva: Owning its class with ease.

Will thei sound change a little as I play them? Or is that only applicable to speakers?
By the way, I already have $450 in the kitty for my next purchase...XSP-1. This way I will utilize the Fully balanced circuitry. I'm also learning techniques how to build a room-within-a-room for my dedicated listening area

Nice. And slightly jealous. In Australia they send us the specials and then tell us we can't buy them. I'm sure. It's just to taunt us now.

I also think they will plateau. The XSP-1 is a perfect match, Ive owned this setup! Incredible is the word that comes to mind!!! Study acoustics a little and you'll be in heaven!

(Note: this is my subjective opinion.) The Emo amps I've tried in my system had an improvement over 24 to 48 hours of being left turned on. I call it warm up more than break in. I reccomend leaving them turned on. However since the 1L does consume a good bit of current in class A mode, when you are done listening to them, you would probably want to flip the switch to AB to reduce the current consumption.

I think my xpa 1s and studio 100s are still breaking in!!! after thousands and thousands of hrs.. still sounding better !!!!! maybe 10,000 hrs is the magic mark!!! keep on playing cheers..

I've been (under)powering them with a Yamaha HTR-6090 until now. The yamaha is now functioning as a temporary Pre.

Well, I woke up this morn' with a learning bug and found an incredible basic presentation by Anthony Grimani on acoustics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bbmWd00HYM) . Great for me, possibly too basic for others. But I sure had fun listening and sipping coffee. After googling some more I headed to my future listening room and played music for a good 4hrs. The kids came downstairs and reminded me that they needed to eat....the noive! Speaking of sustenance, my B&W's had never been fed so well. I pushed them hard, which was so easy with the XPA-1L's, and they never sounded so good. I am so glad I purchased these amps.

I thought the XPA-1L's might make a positive improvement relative to my older B&K 7250 power amp in my XMC-1 controlled system, but I was not prepared for the degree of difference. Dynamics are better, but the big differences are soundstage and detail. Almost like replacing one preamp with another. Anyone else have a similar experience with the XPA-1L's?

Cheers Gary Eloquent as ever, Gary. The sound stage is definitely wider and higher, but the depth of the soundstage is incredible. I think the sound is more clean and lifelike. It is especially good with horns and piano. The sensation is like listening farther into the music.

Thanks everyone. Here is my Listening Chamber. It's a work in progress. Nothing too fancy, just the bare needs (there is a fridge stocked with adult libations too). I am ordering some base traps from GIK Acoustics to help with the room modes. Furniture to house the amps will follow soon....then maybe a tv Attachments:
