Hello,
My power connection on my xpa-100 is extremely loose, to a point that even touching the power cable would make the amp lose its power. This is from a weak connection that's barely touching.
I contacted emotiva to get a replacement power cable. I got the power cable, but it does the same thing.
This is not a problem for my xpa-1 and xpa 1l, because they have ground connection in the power socket.
This is when I realize the xpa-100 does not have grounding connection. That's why it's making a very loose ground connection.
It shouldn't affect the quality of the audio, but it's definitely affecting the how secure the power cable is. It made my xpa-100 flickering on and off. I don't know if that will damage my xpa-100s.
Is there any reason why these amps wasn't grounded?
Thanks

I think you mean that the XPA-100 doesn't have a 3 pin power connector. But that has nothing to do with not having a secure connection which can be had even with a 2 pin connector. If the power cable is loose enough to cause "flickering the amp on and off" and you've tried a different cable, then the problem is with the power connector on the back of the unit. Contact Emotiva and have them fix it. You don't want an amp that flickers on and off rapidly, not to mention the possibility of arcing!

A solution would be to slightly bend the amp AC receptacle contacts for a tighter fit.

yeah i got the replacement cable from emotiva and it is still doing the same thing. I also came to the conclusion that it was the connector that was the problem. So i bent the connection slightly. It still doesn't fix the problem, but at leas it is harder for the cable to pop out. The power connection is still barely touching though. The power connection will still lose contact from time to time (once in a few days). Kinda annoying

I noticed that on mine as well. However, it was just because I wasn't pushing it all the way in. It's tight after sliding it in to the plug shoulder. Try to make sure it's pushed all the way into the connector. I'm not saying that it will fix yours, just expressing my experience with it.

Then i read your comment... then I suddenly realize how dumb i was >.<' YOU ARE RIGHT! I just had to push them in HARD to get it in there. It's very tight now, it will not go any where. Thanks!
