I purchased online a pair of ASM-3B speakers, which I had to return because one was rattling when playing a Nora Jones tune at low to medium volume (5 to 6 clicks up). I considered this a defective product. Bottom line is that it cost me $25 to listen to a defective Emotiva speaker for 10 to 20 minutes. Return was allowed and a refund was given for the purchase price, but shipping cost me $25.
The ASM-3B speakers look nice and have some nice features but the sound does not measure up (ignoring the bass rattling in one speaker). My wife, the musician in the family and the one with the best ears, was disappointed in the sound of the ASM-3B as they were purchased to replace a 30-year old JVC cassette/radio that we listen to in the kitchen. She liked the little 30-year old boom box better.
Sent a letter to Emotiva requesting reimbursement for shipping a defective product back, but got no reply, not even a note or email.
It might be wise to think carefully before doing business with this company.
