Haven't seen any comparisons between these two DACs. Granted they are somewhat of an apples and oranges thing but still I can't help but wonder how the two compare, what differences exist between the two sonically.
Thanks, look forward to the response.

The DC-1's power supply gives it an advantage. Of course you are comparing a portable to a desktop component. If you need the portability you may want to compare the Big-Ego to the Oppo-HA 2. I doubt ai would buy a stand alone DAC unless it could play DSD.

Having just ordered a pair of Airmotiv 4s to hook up to my iMac, I too am wondering ... Big Ego or DC-1? Thanks All!

Done. Big Ego it is. Just wondered about driving the Airmotiv's through the headphone output and loss of some fidelity there as opposed to hooking them up "stealthily" ;-) It should be fine; we're talking a computer work station here, not my home stereo system. thanks!

The Big Ego's line output works brilliantly in my system with a MacMini an a pair of Airmotive 4's. Cheers Gary
