I recommend either the Anthem MRX-310 or 510. Keep it simple Excellent AVRs, no doubt. Among those with decent power stages, to keep it simple, as you said. However, if the OP is still keen on going the route of external amps, a used UMC-200 (as somebody else already suggested) or even a new Outlaw 975 may fit the bill. Choice depends also on exactly what kind of iPod connectivity the OP wants, which is not clear, at least not to me.

So the UMC-200 (processor) receives and processes. Amps XPA-5, XPA-3 and XPA-2 amplify. Use either one XPA-5 or an XPA-3 and XPA-2. No receiver needed in this case.

Check out the Pure i20 for a low-cost iPod dock with a true digital output... I agree with Keith, I own four of the Pure i20 ipod docks and they sound great through the digital toslink!

There is a UMC-200 for sale on US Audio Mart, the price is IMO a bit high allthough www.usaudiomart.com/details/649239006-emotiva-umc200-surround-sound-71-prepro/

Hello I am new here and looking for some feedback. I have Polk RTIA9's, CSIA6 center, FXIA6 surrounds and a SVS PB12 plus sub. After reading, I think I am going to run XPA2 for the two fronts, a XPA3 for the center and surround.. There are so many receiver options, I am confused. Its mainly for movies and music, It has to have a Ipod and be a good match for my combo. I do not need anything you need to take nite classes to operate. I appreciate it fellas. xpa 5 and a receiver with room correction like a denon 4100 be nice.. for movies

Little more music than movies for me. I am still on the hunt. Does emotive make anything that replaces the UMC 200. I cant see where they do.

I think I am just going to say screw it and go with 2 XPA 1'S and a XPA 3 for the center and surrounds.

I pulled the trigger on 2 XPA/1s for the front speakers yesterday. I was also going to grab a XPA 3 for the center and surround but they are out of stock and Emotiva told me they are replacing the XPA 3 models. Still on the hunt for a UMC 200 I keep loosing them on ebay, so I am still undecided to run a receiver or just a UMC 200.

I am happy with my current setup, including the UMC-200.
