How does this unit compare with the X-ref 12, especially for music?

They say it's a Black Friday Sale, and also say it's a 'limited run'. It looks on their Sealed Box page that the SB-12 isn't in the lineup and possibly replaced by the SB-2000? No matter, it's a great price, if I wasn't out of the loop for the next few months I'd jump on it.

The L12 is almost identical in size and specs, just more extension on the lower end (18Hz @ -3dB), but it is over $100 more. Still a good price and I wanted something that would extend a bit below 20Hz. I had been looking at the SB-2000, but I did not feel the extra $160 would have bough me anything compared to the L12. Regardless, both are great companies offering great products at affordable prices. It is a great time to be audio enthusiasts!

They are clearing out the inventory and then this one goes away. I am wrestling with whether or not to buy one, myself. It seems like a good deal, full warranty, etc. Just wondering if I might regret waiting and getting something with a little more extension and 'oomph'.

Then get two of them and be done with it :-) At this price you can get two SB-12 for a little more than one SB-2000. Maybe even the same price, I believe SVS gives a discount for multiple subs purchase, although I do not know if they would do it in this case.

I built a pair of 12" sealed subs last year. Components cost me more than that. A good deal on a well-regarded sub.

Really thinking about getting two of these babies. Free shipping isn't bad either, but they're charging taxes for my state thou, 70 bucks which isn't all that horrible thou. Decisions decisions..

Nice I was hoping to make room for it over Thanksgiving, but that didn't happen. It might stay boxed for a while

OK lets see if this works and the photo appear, but they're finally home. Question, does SVS has an upgrade path program? I thought I read they did, but do see it in their web site any longer.
Dan Guess that didn't work, but will work on it when I get home later tonight.

Dan View AttachmentGuess that didn't work, but will work on it when I get home later tonight. SVS will credit 100% of the purchase price within a year of purchase. The catch is that YOU will have to pay to send it back and then pay shipping on the upgrade as well. I was going to do this with my SB-2000 when getting a SB16-Ultra, but decided to keep the SB-2000 as a near-field option or sell locally. SB-2000 is a little more powerful than the SB12-NSD and will dig a little deeper but two SB12 should be fine in a room up to 2000 cubes.
