Yeah, it is on their website and was previewed by the tech sites back in September. Not sure what the hold up is. Maybe they are prioritizing the AT&T version.

I've been looking around more, and it really does look like the new LG will be the hot ticket for our needs...so biggest question is still pricing/timing. I've seen everything from $350 for the ATT version w/o a contract to $485. That puts it in the range of others I've been looking at, so I guess I'll "hurry up and wait" to see what the final price and timing actually are.

Mark, I see your wife hates Apple. Does she hate the Patriots too? Oh, never mind, I see she is a soccer fan. Disregard!

She doesn't "hate" the Patriots...she dislikes them equally as with other "football" teams because as you note...she likes "futbol"

Well, after much research and deciding what I thought the wife should get and vetting the reco with her...she had to get a new phone (hers got obliterated in a little boo-boo on a tile floor). The Verizon guy talked her into a "bundle" in which she could get her new Droid Turbo 2 and a "free" tablet that is a POS. I am sure that embedded in the deal is some price. But, it does not do wireless AC, and as such - it does not do well in screen mirroring - which is the #1 thing she wanted in a new tablet. On the upside, I didn't have to shell out $350-$450 for a new tablet for her.
And, she will be able to screen mirror from her phone, so at least that's good.
I don't know about you guys, but I always hate it when my wife goes technology shopping without me. It always ends up with her getting something she hates and gets pissed off at for not doing what she wanted...even though if she had penetrated the technology details up front, she would have know that it would not do what she wanted.
Oh well...thanks for the input...when the new LG finally comes out in the US, I just might get it myself!

Well, Joy of Joys...I just learned that there was indeed a cost for that "free" tablet. Despite my wife asking twice to confirm it was free - including no monthly charge (to which the answer was "yes") - I learned they charged us a $10/month fee and a charge to activate a new phone # line. All this for a tablet we were offered for free and my wife even said she didn't want, but the guy said...it's included, just take it.
Needless to say, the tablet was returned, we were not charged a re-stocking fee, and we were refunded all costs...at least it looks like that. I will be going over my next bill with a fine-toothed comb. Of course, being bald - I will have to borrow one.
Now, back to my search. From what I can see, the only LG she would want is only available with AT&T and requires activation. "Ain't gonna happen...!"
So, I now will choose among the latest Samsung options for her.
The fun never ends...

The fun never ends... Mark The journey can be as fun as the destination . As I had mentioned, I got my wife a Samsung tablet a couple of years ago and still going strong. I opted for a 8" screen as a trade off between the more common 7" and 10" sizes. She likes it because if fit in just about any purse keeping it in a thin sleeve and just one more inch over 7" makes a significant difference in readability. The one I got her also has a stylus, which is a nice option to have. Just some food for thought. As for the technology shopping, we have a very well-working arrangement: she buys me clothes I buy her technology . Never failed in 23 years!

That is the plan we should follow - every time she technology shops, well...stuff happens, and I usually have to deal with the fallout. So, I just bought this. She will like it or it's mine...and she can find something else! I'm tired of shopping... Mark

I love my Samsung Tab A for work and play. The right size and budget for me. My i3 work computer is slow compared to this. If you plan to do allot, look at the upper end ones. Amazing these. I had one for work at another job. Loved it.
I don't want or care about anything Apple. I have landed Android, and am not leaving. My LG G3 smokes my work phone iphone 5s.
Solid product the Samsung Tablets.

Great...maybe mine know they are up for sale. That would explain a lot! Mark When my FiOS DVR went on the fritz they pawned off a used one to me and when I got home I found it was damaged! Clearly nobody had bothered to check it before packing it up in the box. On top of that, they're charging me for the rental of a new one! Arrghh! I took it back and kicked up a loud fuss. The "manager" came over, apologized and handed me another box. I proceeded to tear it down in front of him to make sure it was new. Luckily it was and it is working fine. I fear that Frontier may have reduced service quality (from what I read on the world-wide interweb) and maybe will jack up rates (can they do that as I have a contract with Verizon?).

They will sure try...I would think that would be grounds for saying the contract is null and void!
