Ok all after exhaustive trial and error attempting to solve the ever so frustrating 7030 Audio Drop Out Mystery! I believe I have figured it out! First let's back up a bit and list the things I did to remedy the problem...1. Read all the complaints online. 2. Called Emotiva and got their advice...(great guys at Emotiva but you can sure tell they don't want anything to do with Sherbourne owners) 3. New HDMI Cables (twice) 4. Moved HDMI Inputs all over the back of the 7030. 5. And this IS the fix! I removed the HDMI OUT to my TV and have not experienced a drop out since! Not from ANY source!! I know what you're thinking...What about the set-up menu? What about the video switching? Well as for the menu: I now output the HDMI signal from the Sherboune to an extra "17 computer monitor I had laying around and it works fine! As a matter of fact I can have the menu on while watching the TV which is great because the 7030 does not allow for an overlay so if you were trying to adjust your 7030 while using any video source you were SOL which always seemed to be a real misstep in forethought in the design stage but I digress! As for the video switching well with my OPPO with the Darbee Processor and using a Sony 4k TV I have no need for video switching or the processing, and I can say that if you're a 7030 owner you probably wont need it in the very near future either! I didn't buy the 7030 for anything other than the Audio decoding/preamp-balanced in/outs so for me it is a perfect solution. The problem certainly is in the output stage of the Sherbourne HDMI as I haven't EXPERIENCED ONE issue since the fix...I don't know why it doesn't drop out using the computer monitor but it may have something to do with the lack of HDMI information in the handshake between the 7030 and a TV....things like MHL, CEC etc. just seem too much for the 7030 to deal with...Well I hope any of this info helps anyone out there that was dealing with this most frustrating issue...All this being said I really like the 7030 for home theater decoding and I am very impressed with the pre-amp when used balanced AND in "BYPASS" mode!
