Great thanks, that's what I wanted to see from beginning. Looks like not a big difference between EMM and UMIK.. But my hopes was lost some days ago and I ordered UMIK What cal file you used for EMM? SocketMan's Cross-SpectrumEmotivaMicCalOA

Couldn't one use a calibrated UMIK-1 to do a test and then re do it with the EMM, and then use that to generate a cal file for the EMM?

SocketMan already did that and everybody can use his cal file. However comparing my EMM and UMIK best results with EMM can be achived without any cal file, just need SPL meter to calibrate level

How can everyone use his cal file? The cal file would needed to be generated per microphone. That's the point of a calibration file.

Correct...if you use his, you are counting on your EMM to be the same as his. But if you have an individually calibrated UMIK, you could indeed use it to make a cal file for your EMM and use that for your EMM. Mark

Just curious - do you use that little foam cap on the UMIK? Hi The Emotiva's EMM-1 microphone has also a foam cap stuck at its top. Did anybody remove it ? Maybe it could justify, by absorbing high frequencies, the somewhat excess of treble I feel even when choosing a slightly decreasing curve, as recommended by default.
