Anybody else excited for the Emersa EPA-1? This could be what I've been waiting for for my office setup where I'm currently running a 2.1 of a DC-1. This would give me bass management and a trigger out for the amps and I could sell the DC-1!

If your gonna call it the "EPA-1" it's gonna need GREEN l.e.d.'s and be SUPER efficient.

Well... I don't see any headphone options here so, no, not excited ;-) Fairly happy as a clam with my DC-1 and SP-1. The EPA-1 adds a bit of LAN/BT connectivity, but for a pre-amp, I'd much rather have headphone out (high quality) rather than the phono input! Anybody else excited for the Emersa EPA-1? A multichannel DAC/pre with 8 (or more) AES input/AES output + analog out + built in upmix/downmix (like a processor) would be more interesting.
Edit: wireless Dante support would be beyond awesome.

Big fan of the DC-1. It's a great unit, and there's only a few DACs out there that can beat it. I'd be interested to see if the EPA-1 is a better DAC, or just more features in it.

I don't think the emersa line is meant to compete with DC-1. EPA-1 is a 'lower tier' designed to be light weight, compact, easy to use, and living room friendly.
I'm sure EPA-1 will sound fine, but a 2.1 DC-1 setup with class A/B amps will probably sound better. As far as a DAC goes, the DC-1 is all you need...not going to get anything noticeably better at the 1k price range. Rest is mostly about your speaker choice and position. I got the DC-1 in a 2.1 setup and think this device works perfectly as a DAC/pre-amp. I'm going to add a digital miniDSP to fix some forced poor speaker positioning problems.

I too agree, without a doubt, the DC-1 is their best sound quality-wise to date.

Does anyone know if the DC-1 sounds dramatically better versus the less expensive audioengine d1 DAC? I realize the stealth has a ton more connection options and is overall much more elegant but I'm curious how it stacks up sound wise. I don't want to spend two or three hundred more for the same sound.

I don't get excited about class D designs and I won't until I hear one that suits me.

Until now we've felt the same way.... but we're pretty satisfied with the way the latest ICEpower modules sound. I don't get excited about class D designs and I won't until I hear one that suits me. Trey

Keith, I would love a chance to hear them. And the new speakers. Now where could I hear a bunch of Emotiva products in a great demo setting? Hmmm, could it be . . . EMOFEST 2016? ?? You gotta tell Dan and Cathy that they have so much good stuff to show off, Emofest would be perfect. Just sayin. Trey

Trey Sound quality is not what I would worry about. I'm sure they sound great. It is designing around the footprint of the ICE modules that is a PIA. My guess is that the new module is smaller than the older version. That or Emotiva got creative with the layout of the 7 channel version of their amplifier.
