So I've had my XMC-1 and UPA-700 for a year or so now and I've finally got around to putting an equipment rack in the wall. Lots of blank space to fill up and I'm getting a list together to get rack ears for my various equipment.
I called Emotiva yesterday and inquired about them. I was told they may not be available for a month, but with absolutely no hint that they will EVER be available. I just don't know how a company such as Emo doesn't have them available. Apparently from past posts I've searched, they have either not had them or had a lack of them for a few pieces of equipment dating back a year or more.
Is all their capital and money that tied up with creating new products that they can't make the supporting accessories for the equipment that many of us have waited years for? Is it a matter of sourcing someone to manufacture them? Hell I'll start up a business and make them. I say that tongue in cheek of course but I can't imagine why it's so hard to get these available for us. At around $50 a pair for most of them, I find it hard to believe they're not profitable.
I asked if I could place an order for a couple sets so when they're available I can get them. I was told no, to just call back in a month. That just makes me nervous and wondering if I'm going to have to spend some serious money to get the pricey Middle Atlantic custom ones made.
Anyone have more insight? Anyone "in the know"?

Are the rack ears showing as not available on the website? I ordered my rack ears for my XMC at the same time I ordered my XMC. I don't have a UPA-700, but I've never had problems getting rack ears for the UPA-2, XPR-2, or XPA-5 that I've had in and out of my rack.

I just racked my XPA-7 I have to say the rack ears for the XPA-7 are nicely made, some simple directions would have been nice but I figured it out. but..... I agree I wanted to rack my XMC-1 up but ... I'm waiting on a waiting list... Ugh. getting close to mounting all my gear, and plugging this thing in... so much to do... but I agree Rack ears would be nice.

Any information from Emotiva on the XMC rack mount ears? I emailed them asking for the ears availability, back in January and they answered to check again in a month. I don't see them on the website.
thanks.

Do come back and update us if you find out anything concrete!

I don't see them on the website. thanks. XMC-1 rack ears exist. Emotiva shipped me a pair about a week after I received my XMC-1. I would give you the product number but for some reason my pre-order of the XMC-1 and the rack ears isn't showing in my order history. Like LCSeminole suggested, give them a call and they will be able to complete an order for you.

I have asked twice recently about rack ears and told they remain "unavailable." They did put my name on a waiting list and a later call when I ordered the XPS-1 confirmed that it was still on the list.

I just ordered URE-3 rack ears today. They are back in stock and are now drilled for the XMC-1 and the XSP-1.

Is the UPA-700 a 2 RU sized unit by chance?

The UPA-700 is also a 3RU you need part number URE-3 which is the same part number for the XMC-1 and the XSP-1.IF you look at the rack ears on the Emotiva web site and click on features, it will tell you what they offer and what they fit.
