Dumb question to ask but here it goes...I am working on our HT room and all of the equipment with the exception of my L&R speakers, AVR and my XPA 2 have been sitting in a spare bedroom for about 7 months and I still have about 3-4 months worth of work to finish the HT. My question is...sitting in the spare bedroom, will it "dry out" the speakers or harm the Amps in any way? The room does have central heating and air. And before I am asked, knowing this bunch, the answer is no, I wont keep my gear at your house until the HT is finished.

Just give them a good dust off and play the speakers at low volume for an hour or so. That will give the drivers' suspension time to loosen up, then gradually increase the volume over the next half hour or so to normal listening levels. Probably not necessary but it won't hurt loosen up the mechanicals. Electronics won't need it of course.
Cheers Gary

I have stuff that sat around for a decade, and I pulled it out and it plays fine. Worry not about a few months... Mark

Any how just hook every thing up when you're finished with your work and enjoy, no need to worry since your spare bedroom is climate controlled.

The only storage issue I can think of is that big woofers (15") supposedly tend to settle over time due to suspension flex. Sometimes the voice coils can rub after long down-time.
The above was (maybe) true with vintage woofers (Altec & Electro-Voice) but new ones may be better suspended - I don't know. So the above "advice" may be completely obsolete.
Even with old 15" woofers, I've seen K-Horns & LaScalas in continuous use for 30 years without ever having been fiddled with - So maybe the "advice" was always bogus. Where did I get the idea? The local stereo shop told me. I've never heard evidence to prove or disprove the idea, so take it with the grain of salt it deserves.
