Hey everyone just received my Mini today, wow fast shipping and this thing was packed very well. I have a Marantz 2230 powering some vintage Polk Monitor 7s and was just wanting a little more power. I saw the xmas sale and had read some great reviews so I took the plunge and ordered the mini. I figured that if I really did not care for it I would hook it up to 2 smaller systems around the house or send it back and get the xpa-200. I have had a chance to listen to a bunch of vinyl today and I am impressed, the changes are subtle but there. It easily reaches loud levels easier than before but for me the important part is the drums and bass seem a lot tighter and not as muddy I would say, also played all different types of music and everything sounded just a bit cleaner with more separation of instruments. Not really a audiophile just know what it sounds like to me so I hope this all makes sense. The xpa-200 may come down the road but for right now this and the new tweeters I ordered for my Polks should keep me satisfied for a bit lol, more money for records. Did a lot of looking here before buying so thanks to everyone and I enjoy learning from you guys. I love my 2230 and this paired with the mini is so far so good, I really like it.

IMO all the XPA amps I have owned sounded the same or very similar, the XPA-1L being the one that sounded a tad better to my ears and the Mini is one heck of a deal at $149 almost ridiculous actually Welcome to the club Chad

I 've consistently said that the XPA-2 is the best value for the money in the Emotiva lineup. But I have to now change that statement. The XPA-2 WAS the best value for the money in its generation one iteration. But today, the generation 3 Mini-X is the best value for the money. Where else can one get an audiophile-quality amplifier, brand-new, with a five-year warranty for $150? NOWHERE! And I don't call it "audiophile quality" lightly, either. You have to hear this thing to believe it! Enjoy your Mothers of Invention, zappafan2! It doesn't get much better than this until you've spent 10x the cash!

Zappa. Funny you should mention Frank. getting coffee yesterday @ 7am and Joe's Garage was playing in the coffee shop.!! Of course the baristas didnt know what the hell they were listening to.
To Booms comment about the xpa2,I couldnt agree more. Wish I'd never sold mine

Im off work for a bit so I have had a lot of time for my music, late last night I listened to Apostrophe and One Size Fits All two thumbs up. I love my 2230 (also have a 2220B for computer system, a 2010 in my sons dorm room, and a Pioneer sx 535 in bedroom setup) and was thinking about a 2270 but prices seem to be getting quite high so I decided on using the 2230 for a pre and adding an amp. Found some really nice used ones but was really liking the fact of Emotiva with the warranty, If it would not have been xmas time I would have probably went with the XPA_200. I have read so many positives about the emotiva and the Mini and I thought $149 with a 5 yr warranty how could I go wrong, if i didnt see a change on the 2230 I would just hook it up on one of my smaller receivers. I know myself lol and eventually this may end up on another system and the xpa 200 will be in my main system, but maybe not becouse this is a great piece of equipment and it has made a difference in what I am hearing. I absolutely love it!!!!!
