Preamp for a-100

Hello,

A bought an Emotiva a-100 amplifier a couple of years ago. I've been using it to amplify my DVD/Bluetooth signal to a pair of speakers I designed and built. Great sound! But I wonder if its sound would be better if I put a preamp between the DVD and the a-100 amplifier. Would it work? What specs would be advisable for such an item? A valve amp would work?

It would sound better if you had a high quality DAC in its place. For instance an Emotiva DC-1 would do great with the DVD player. As for bluetooth you'll just have to connect to it the regular away you've been doing right now.
