I'm hoping to see a lot more budget Dolby Atmos/DTS-X receivers. I think there are going to be a ton of 4K displays, but still think we are a few years away from 4k in the terms of Home Theater projectors(at least in my budget). I think we are inching closers to OLED technology to be "affordable". I'm sure there will be displays available, but probably not for the price range and size that most people are accustomed to on this forum board.
I'm hoping for an exciting year for HT tech.

I am hoping to see larger OLED TVs and Atmos equipment that supports more channels.

I will be looking for a 5.1 receiver or prepro/amp combo that is no more than 4" tall. Black with no big lights, knobs or buttons. Something to match my OPPO and Xfinity boxes stealth appearance. It needs to have at least 60 watts per channel for all channels.

I expect to see some cool new products from several manufacturers, and quite a bit that are ho-hum who-cares products. Hopefully there will be something to get excited about.

On top of the news/pictures that Emotiva plans to show us here on the Lounge right before CES, I'm hoping that LG/Samsung/Panasonic have some news/announcements on new lines of OLED TV's.

I want to see the line of TV's that has the latest in 4k and all that, yet aloows at least 90" for pricing equivalent to a projector.

I'm right there with everyone else here. I'll be looking for what's on the the horizon for OLED tv's. I'm wanting a 80+ inch for the living room. If it could be had for the 2k and uder price point I'd be all over it. And as always I'll be looking forward to the DTS experience.

I expect Dan to give us a preview because I believe that he said we would get one on the podcast. I expect to see very expensive products (from many manufacturers) that will be obsolete by CES 2020.

What I'd hope to see (and haven't yet) is a high-quality, reasonably-priced, universal, upgradable media server. Nobody's made one yet. I keep hoping that it'll be something that Emotiva would see a profit in...

I keep hoping that it'll be something that Emotiva would see a profit in... +1,000,000. I am hoping for the same to replace my now defunct Logitech Squeezebox system (which continues to function well).

Well giving the relatively young life of the OLED tv and how you can already buy a 55 incher for under $ 1500. I'm betting prices will fall much faster then on OLED's then what we saw on LED tv's. I'm willing to wager that your 70" will be in the $1500 and under price point this time next year...

Here's a funny story about falling prices on new technology. It was July 2000 my wife and I walked into my favorite hi end audio/video store..Video Mart 2000 in San Bernardino Ca. The salesman and friend of mine..Ali..showed us a 50" plasma TV in all it glory and what was then a thin tv. The price was $20k but he'd give me a deal at $18k. Needless to say I didn't buy it..lol Now flash forward to 2006 when I bought a 55" plasma TV from Costco for $1500! Man those prices came down fast. I still have that tv hanging on my bedroom wall.
Now back to CES expectations..

For those that are interested, the Keynote live streams for this years CES2016 can be found at the link below. Personally I'll be catching LG(11am est) I enjoyed LG's opening talk. It's interesting that the majority of time they harped on "OLED is the future", and then when they mention the 3 large TV's they mutter "and they are LCD's" under their breath. For my mancave, I currently use a Panasonic AE4000u projector. I likely won't change that until it dies. When it does, I would actually prefer to get a TV/display instead of a projector, but I have grown quite used to the 106" screen w/my PJ! I have a feeling that by the time I am ready, it will be a toss-up between a high end PJ and the largest screen TV I can get. I think it will take at least 85" to keep me happy, and the pickings are mighty slim (and quite costly!) at that size of TV today. Hopefully that improves! Mark

Mark They(LG) did say that the 4 different levels of 8 OLED TV's that will be available in 2016 will range from the 55 to 77 in range, so I'm encouraged that larger panels will be available in the foreseeable future. I was quite intrigued with how thin, 2.37mm (thickness of 4 credit cards), the panel/glass will be as well. For those of you interested, Dolby Vision will also be a feature in their Signature line of OLED TV's.
