I own the XDA1 DAC. I see that Emo only has the DC1 on the site. Will they make a XDA3?

There has been no word on it, but they have been very tight-lipped on new products.

My assumption is that the new Emersa line will replace the previous position held by the XDA series DAC. I believe that their new pre-amp will have both analog and digital capabilities as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

My assumption is that the new Emersa line will replace the previous position held by the XDA series DAC. I believe that their new pre-amp will have both analog and digital capabilities as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I believe you are right that there will be an Emersa amp with built in DAC, but...I don't think you will see Emotiva walk away from stand alone DAC's. As noted, the DC-1 is still available, so if that form factor is not and issue...that would be a finds choice. If it is, a used xda-2 could do until a potential replacement is out. And, I do think you will see one. My bet? Once it is out, it will make the dc-1 obsolete (uh, I meant...) outdated and be fantastic. EDIT: Updated to reflect a more PC word! Mark

My impression from the podcast was that all the x-series was being replaced with newer products, with 3 exceptions- XMC , ERC, XPA-1.

And, there's also a new line different from Emersa to replace the U-series. So, a new XDA-series replacement could come out in the x-series replacement or the u-series replacement or...?

Mark Correct; the "Base-X" line... however, with the "X" nomenclature of the XDA, I would expect nothing short of Emersa status. That said, there could be an "XDA-3" or a new XSP that, like the Emersa pre-amp, will be both analog and digital (making the XSP-1 an important piece of gear for analog purists). Time will tell.

Mark The DC-1 is from Emotiva Pro; more aimed at studio use than use in the home (although use in the home is more than acceptable).
