I will soon be hooking my system up. I have 2 XPA1's for the front speakers and a XPA5 on the way for the center and sides. I am on the hunt for a receiver, what all cables do I need? Links would be helpful, I plan on buying a spool of speaker wire but I am not sure on what all cables I need to hook all these up. Thanks Fellas.

Get XLR cables! Get 12 guage or thicker speaker wires. You would also seend single banana plugs (not the ones that come in pairs). All can be got from Radioshack. Monoprice offers the cheapest ones. I find best results with keeping the XLR run short - but that's just me. Nothing rooted in fact. Your pre processor - XMC-1. It sounds fantastic. But be warned they do not do Dolby atmos. But it will have HDMI 2 but right now it is a $300 upgrade and you get just a single HDMI 2 port in and out.

The cables you get depend on the pre/pro you buy.
If you can use XLR with the pre/pro, I would. And, the XMC is an amazing pre/pro if it is in your budget. Speaking of that...what ias your pre/pro budget and are you in a hurry? If your budget does not allow an XMC, the pending Emersa looks quite good so far.

WAIT - You've got all those great power amps and you're looking for a RECEIVER? WTF? If you have the room, keep your amps & just buy an up-to-date AV processor.
If you MUST save space and get an AVR instead, put me at the head of the line to buy your XPA-1s - no kidding!

Get a preamp/processor. UMC200's can be found on the used market. Don't buy cheap cables. At least step up to Emotiva brand

Knucklehead has a Sherbourn PT7030 listed here on the Emporium. Grab that instead of a receiver

Just fyi, the Emotiva cables look nice, but the banana plugs fall apart and the width is a "stretch" for some of their amps.....

Thanks I am running almost the same set up with the XPA-1's, XPA-5 and PT7020-C4 plus a twelve inch sub. Emotiva or Monoprice both offer some really nice and affordable XLR's, RCAs and speaker wires. Also, the Monoprice HDMI cables seem to work well.

Receiver pre-outs to the amps. Amps to the speakers.
