Wow... any doubts I had about going Monoblock are gone now!
On the down side, now I looking at the XMC-1. Sigh.

Take a look at the signal to noise ration of the XMC-1 in balanced mode. All you need is a couple of good XLR cables.

Well, after listening to them at low to moderate volume for most of the week, I decided it was time to hit them with some uncompressed material. Yes, yes, yes.... I know, but I was using high bitrate so it was not so bad.
Anyway, this weekend I have been re-ripping selected material to lossless, and streaming it from my music server.
Last night, I played the thing till well after 2AM. I thought my neighbour (I am attached) was out for the night but he had come home. At 2:10 I get a text "I am going to bed". I apologized and told him I didn't know he was home and asked why he didn't let me know he was home so I could turn it down. He replied "I know you needed to have an uninterrupted run with the things". 6 hours of bliss... I truly love these amps!
Thanks to all who have posted their reviews and impressions of these amps... this resource is what made me pull the plug, and I get happier about it every day.

It is always great when you add a component that takes your system to the next level. And then the upgraditis sets in even more. This hobby is so addicting.

Oh, I skipped over quite a few levels I think... LOL. The research, that's what's important. Get the right stuff, once. So right now I am looking at pre-pros.

Replaces a 10 year old Yamaha AVR-750, and they're driving a pair of Polk RTi A9s

The xpa-1ls are cheap enough I should grab a pair to demo vs. my krell or xpa-7
