This is an idea of mine in the future. To have the local hifi repair shop do it obviously.
But I was wonder if it will weaken the synergy that the amp and speaker already have?

I was having a problem with one of my Airmotiv 4 speakers getting too hot. when I emailed support they seemed to know the exact cap. So I got them both replaced and has been fine ever since and they sound great to me. I had to use A techie cause I'm overseas.

The power is typically not turned off in these and as such the caps get hot and IMHO are under rated for the job at hand...they will quite likely fail within the warranty period. I redid a pair of Armotive 6's a couple of months back. Sad to say this issue is why they are the price they are. Here is the tread with my pics emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/45078/airmotiv-6-buzzing-problems

My 4s have basically been on since I bought them from Boomzilla three years ago. I bought them twice used. I have had narry a hiccup from them.
YMMV.

YMMV but from what I have seen of the Airmotives they will need attention sooner or later if left on all the time.

Use a better quality cap of the same value. Or send them to someone like Danny Richie to upgrade, he'll make them sound better across the board...

I haven't done this with Emotiva speakers but I a very accomplished DIY friend rebuilt the entire crossover. He essentially replaced everything to specs but with much higher end components. Sound improvement was dramatic, specifically, the speakers sounded faster and bigger.
