The Standby button on the XMC-1 should flicker when receiving remote control commands. If it flickers when you try to use the remote, then that means that the remote is sending something, and the XMC-1 isn't responding (so a reset might help). (You can also try a remote for another device; the XMC-1 won't respond to it, but the Standby button should still flicker when you push the buttons.) However, if the button flickers with another remote, but not with your XMC-1 remote, then the remote itself is almost certainly dead - and resetting the XMC-1 won't help that. The Dirac filter data is stored inside one of the XMC-1's DSP sections. They are NOT saved as part of the configuration when you Backup Settings, are NOT replaced when you do a Restore Settings, and are NOT deleted when you do a Factory Reset. (The only way to save your Dirac stuff outside the XMC-1 is to Save the Project on your computer when you run Dirac.) The upshot of all this is that, if you Backup Settings, do a Factory Reset, and then Restore Settings, you should end up with everything set just like it was before. And, if you do a Factory Reset without restoring your previous settings, your Dirac filters will still be there, but you'll have to manually reassign each Input to use the Dirac Preset, and you'll also have to reset the speaker size information in all your presets - including the Dirac Preset (the filters will still be there, but they won't be used unless you select the Dirac Preset). Also note that, if you consider running Dirac to be a lot of work, you REALLY should save the project after taking your measurements. (Unfortunately, if you decide that you like a particular set of filters AFTER you've downloaded them to the XMC-1 and closed the Dirac program, there's no way to "get them back from the XMC-1 and save them".) If your XMC-1 ever has to be serviced, and we end up changing that DSP board, we will NOT be able to recover or save your Dirac filters..... Hi Keith, I have checked with other remote front power button shows slight flickering, but when i press emotiva remote buttons no flickering on power button of emotiva xmc 1 I have checked the set up menu advanced for Front IR blaster,Front IR in everything is checked* condition Ihave tried to perform the v3.1a firmware update after seeing in your website there is some issue on remotes of Other IR signal The firware update complete and xmc 1 powered off by itself, everything went fine, but after checking the firmware version info in the information, it reads firmware 3.1 only and not 3.1a in the display still remote is not getting functional!!! Batteries changed and find old Remote battery is intact, no leakage sign of acid inside remote
It seems as Per Mr Keith when emotiva remote buttons presssed and no flickering on the processor means remote is dead Mr Keith Pl advise how i can get the new remote,May be will e mail request for the same Iam Located in Doha,Qatar Is there any Apple app is released for the emotiva until i can try for volume controls? need more surfing in e motiva lounge Selvam

Call or e-mail Emotiva about the remote. I had a remote for an ERC-1 that stopped working and they sent me a new one. The new one works fine.

I have checked the battery and found installed correctly, finally removed the insulation gum arround terminal cleaned and rotated battery!!! Finally found XMC-1 responding and there was erratic threeline display hanged and xmc -1 is hanged and thought of reciever is recieving some continuous signal, powered off with back button , cleaned the remote soldering lead area after removing the insulating gum and cleaned with tissue Ahh finally the remote working again thanks Thought some moisture condensation inside terminal making some short circuit---- not sure, may here too cold 8 C and dews ( normal for your location) May be helpfull for others, thats why wrote above infos Damon saved me of 50 USD plus shipping to qatar , of those words, thanks Damon -emotiva Looking forward to buy some LP records Regards,Selvam

Hi Selvam,
Glad things worked out for you!
So far I have spilled a glass of milk and a glass of orange juice on my remote. I have only (knock on wood)had to wipe the remote off with a damp cloth to keep it working. Keys got sticky a little bit, but the damp cloth and pushing them got things back to normal.
Darn remote is built like a tank and so far I am glad it is.
Take care all,
Steve

I leave the remote in its sleeve so it doesn't damage anything it comes in contact with. Don't drop it on your toes .
