While trying to troubleshoot a loud transformer and speaker buzz caused by my XPA-7 I noticed that none of the other XPA Series amps have a dedicated ground connection on the amp like the XPA-7 does. Why is the XPA-7 grounded to the power outlet when none of the other XPA Series amps are? Have other owners of the XPA-7 had buzzing problems that can't be eliminated?

I went through every possible troubleshooting step including buying a CMX-2 for DC offset with no improvement. It made no noise the first couple months so the amp ended up back at Emotiva for repair. I have an XPA-2 in the system that is dead quiet so the XPA-7 is faulty. I was mainly interested in an explanation why only the XPA-7 is a grounded amp vs the rest of the XPA Series amps.

that has to be an "oops." i know what you mean, i have an LPA-1 and XPA-3 and both don't even have a wire to hook to the ground pin.
