UMC-200
Previous to getting the X1 DVR, using either their Scientific Atlanta or CISCO DVRs the HDMI pass through on standby worked flawlessly on my UMC-200. It would work for weeks. The only thing that would cause it to fail was the very occasional power outage, which was to be expected.
Since getting the X1 this past fall it rarely works. Mostly it does not work from one day to the next. Only occasionally will it pass through on the second day. Having to fire up the entire system just to watch the news etc... Very annoying. What I have noticed though is that the X1 reboots frequently very early in the morning say between 2:30 and 3:00AM. I've checked the Comcast forums and there are some threads talking about the frequent reboots on the X1. I'm fairly certain this is what's causing the problem.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks

I recently upgraded to the X1 box.... I forget where I read it, but Comcast specifically said somewhere in the X1 instructions that the X1 box "reboots once every night to make sure it has the latest system updates" - or words to that effect. As far as I know, there's no way to shut this off.... therefore, the video-on-standby on your UMC-200 WILL disconnect every night if you have an X1 box. (I guess maybe occasionally the reboot is fast enough that it doesn't disconnect; and I suspect that the box might not reboot if the DVR is recording something at that time.) This shouldn't affect the video on standby on the XMC-1.
