I'm wondering where is the limit in Class A performance on the XPR-2? Does it go up to 60 watt at 8ohm? Is it switchable like the XPA-2? I read through the docs and I can't seem to see any information on it for the XPR-2.

No it is not 60 watts at 8 ohms. It does get reasonably warm. Maybe 5 watts or so I assume. The XPR-1 however has 30 watts class A.

Thanks for the info. I also have axiom m80v4 speakers Could I ask you for your personal opinion? Have you heard the XPA-1 or 2 as compared to the XPR-1 or 2? If so, did you like the XPR series better or the XPA? Any additional info would be good to know. Thanks!

This is a very difficult question, most people have Not heard both units for any period of time in there Own system in their room. Generalities and guess work is the best to expect. But it is easy to say that most any of the larger Emotiva amps will serve you well. Good luck!
