My TV has optical digital and analog RCA outs. I'm presently using the optical digital and there's a delay in the audio (the audio is a ms or two behind the picture) - enough that it's irritating. I know the XMC-1 can generate additional delay, but it can't be set to negative values.
Suggestions?

On your tv go to audio under menue, and you should be able to change the sync values.
Give a shout if you dont find it.

My TV (Panasonic TC-P55S60) doesn't have a delay option.

What's ARC?
Oh, I should mention I'm using an antenna (no cable or cable box).

Interesting! Do I set it on my TV or on the XMC-1? The XMC-1 is sending HDMI Monitor 1 Out to the TV, but the TV, far as I can tell doesn't have any menu options to send audio out via HDMI.

I got the ARC working but I'm not sure it's any better. I'm paying such intense attention to whether the audio seems in sing (e.g., following lips) that I've lost perspective. Thanks for the tip on ARC!

So, I've gone back and forth between the ARC and Optical and both have delays. But on one channel, they're a lot closer. Changing the TV to PCM takes care of it, but then I lose the surround sound. Any other ideas?

Buy a SMART tv. I see no ARC on the specs on your tv. Good luck

HDMI2 has ARC on my TV. And it is a Smart TV. Many tvs have a "game" mode. Try turning it on.
