Never dealt with them, but I have had this happen on music and other things. I chalk it up to "it happens". Some places inventory documentation is just not up to par. When it happens on internet ordered things, I usually give it a few days from their "oops" email and look into other options.
Most recently, I ordered a projector bulb that showed in stock. They emailed after 3 days and said, "oops, out of stock...we can ship you a more costly one.". I agreed. 3 days later...no shipping notice still. I called them, and they were out of stock on the pricier one that was to replace the cheaper one that was out of stock. I cancelled the order and told them I thought they were trying to scam me into getting the more costly one and that I would not be back. I ordered elsewhere and paid even more $ to avoid dealing with the other place. I later read that bulbs from the first place were all sub-par. Love the bulb I got now!

I had that happen with my first batch of Albums I purchased from them. I think that it falls under the category of stuff happens.
I had a great experience buying my VPI Traveler from them.

I buy most of my purchases online. However, I usually try to check for reviews on any online dealer I haven't purchased from before. The dealer with the cheapest price is not always the best deal. I sometimes check with resellerratings.com. Soundstagedirect.com has a good rating there (only 7 reviews, 9.64/10) and the reviews are dated. Some dealers have been known to submit their own phony reviews. www.resellerratings.com/store/SoundStage_DirectI never buy from an online dealer that immediately charges my credit card when I place the order. Reputable online dealers only charge your card when the product is actually shipped. If you place the order online be sure and mention in the instruction box, if there is one, to not charge your card until the day of shipment or relay that info if ordered over the phone. The exception is if they have to special order the item or it is clearly stated that you have to pre-order on a new product that will be in stock soon. Many online dealers will do what you had happen. They take your order, say it is in stock and charge you as if they have it in stock. They then order it and ship it out when they receive it. When I have happen what you found is to immediately cancel the order and let them know I am placing the charge in dispute with my credit card company. Buyer beware! Most importantly order with a credit card only. Never, ever use a debit card or send a check or money order!

Buy all my new vinyl there and have never had any issues, with multiple purchases. I have also dealt with them on special orders and they were very accommodating. Stuff happens, and as others stated inventory updates are sometimes not immediate while ordering on line.

I've made several purchases with Soundstage Direct and have never had a problem. Actually, they're one of the best I've dealt with and the ONLY one where I've received direct assistance from the owner himself (Seth). I purchased my VPI Traveler from them three years ago. I immediately received a phone call from Seth who graciously assisted me with any questions that I had pertaining to the table and assisted me with the selection of cartridges he personally felt worked best for my needs. Ironically, I've just traded that same Traveler in for a Scout 1.1 (with an Ortofon 2M Black). Seth gave me a gracious discount and fantastic offer on the trade-in. So, yes, they're a "stand up" company to deal with and "I" can personally recommend them. More on your point, I don't think they "inventory" everything they sell. When a selection states anything other than "Ships in 1-2 Days", in all likelihood they need time to obtain it from their distributer or directly from the manufacturer. It could also be possible, in some instances, that their own inventory count isn't correct. I couldn't tell you how many times I've went to the local Lowes or Home Depot just to find that they don't have something in stock that their website states they do. So, yes, "stuff" happens. Personally, I purchase most of my "new" vinyl through Elusive Disc (also highly recommended) or Amazon. If I'm being honest, most of it is purchased through Amazon simply because their return process is so damned easy... So, yes, rest assured that you case is the exception, not the rule (or SOP), with Soundstage Direct.

Did you check Amazon or Ebay. I try and buy from the small shop I have dealt with for 3 decades. However it is a hour car trip for me. So I have used both Amazon Never a problem plus free two day shipping. I have had great luck with Ebay as well. I do look at sellers feed back and only buy from 99% and above never had any trouble. My Vinyl always arrives safe and sound.

Sometimes you just need a person to get things done right. Thankyou all for the input, im a happy camper!! Glad to hear this Nick...!!! I was concerned you would have a hard time finding this since QRP is already backlogged and soon will be ramping up for the next pressing of "The Beatles 1967-1970" (Blue) LP. On the flip side, I just found out that my brand new Scout 1.1 will be delayed due to a parts shortage at VPI. Seems things are quite busy in the world of vinyl...
