Congratulations, these do look impressive. The smps boards look ominous, I may be convinced to try one of these yet!

Sorry if this has been answered before - are Gen 3s assembled in the US? Also, can we see an example of the 11 channel (3x300 + 8x150) mentioned on another thread? Thanks!

It's a term that stems from double-wide trailer homes, where basically they took one trailer home merged another one next to it (width-wise vs. length-wise), and thus doubled the footprint of the home. Is that supposed to be funny. clown

Double-wide has become a default term for a single/double footprint in something. Google double-wide trailer homes.

The monoblock module will have a double-wide footprint. It will take up the same space as 2 regular modules stuck together. The term *originated* with trailer homes, but has since been shortened and now is frequently referred to anything that is 2X in size comparison to X.

They look well built and NICE. The caps on the modular boards look like Panasonic FM Series Caps.
Hmmmm, my XPA-2 G2 is 74 lbs; XPA Two G3 is 35.5 lbs. I know what my back is saying..........

Is it safe to say the Emotiva Millionaire Club members will receive theirs first? Also, will they receive 7 amps (1 channel, 2 channels, etc)?

I was looking at the size of the power supply It looks like about the size or slightly smaller than the transformer on the mini-x. (Of course it is switching which is a different type versus the torroid). Capacitance looks about 20,400 mf. I might be mistaken on that though I just added up what I saw on the power supply board. There could be more hiding out else where on the unit. Mini x. XPA gen 3 It looks like it's the yellow piece at the front of the amp down there. Looks to be about the size of four of the small capacitors together. It seems impressive to me that that small amount of real estate can push out 3 kilowatts. I wonder how they deal with the heat. Or maybe switching supplies generate very little heat due to their efficiency? According to the Emotiva description on the 3 kw power supply
"Massive old school transformers and giant filter capacitors are rendered obsolete. They just can't compete. It's a revolution in power design, and it's the backbone of the new XPA modular amplifier system. It's the way of the future, and it's here now.And in comparison here's the *obsolete* amps XPA-1 gen 2 XPA-3 gen 2 XPR-1

Class H power supply for the win! Cleaner and more dynamic output (more bass basically)
Now show me a Class D amp with a direct AES input and I'll be mighty impressed. (When is JBL going to provide that in their newest cheap active monitors...)
