Ok I have given up. I need help from any computer GURU! I have the neat mobile scanner that was operating flaslessly. Now I keep getting a message after doing a diagnostic test that my SCANNER DRIVER cannot be found. I have a NEW iMac desktop. Previously I had another iMac and I had the same problem only recently. The NEAT SCANNER is a nice piece. I use it for my business. The unfortunate thing and I did not realize when I purchased it about three years ago is that there is NO contact number to speak to someone. Everything is done thru e-mail. I have written to them twice with NO response. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the program. I am not computer involved so I don't know if uninstalling is enough or if I missed something. NEAT VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I will go on record to say BE WARNED! IMHO DO NOT BUY THIS DEVICE B/C of their HUGH LACK OF SUPPORT.
I would appreciate any insight or advice.
Thanks

Ive asked about these devices before. Thanks for your post. You said youve used it for years without any problem? Is that the one that looks like a stick? The cheaper one? Or the desktop model.
If its portable, subject to abusee, maybe they just dont hold up that well. Nithing lasts nowdays, especially if it's portable.
So if I look at getting the desktop model from Best Buy, I should definitely get the extended warranty, no question return?
Thanks for your report and any other info you may give us.

bluemeanies, since you get an error about the scanner driver, have you tried to reinstall that? Driver installation is not necessarily part of the scanner software installation.
If you do not have the driver in a disk, try to look for it on the scanner manufacturer website or with a Google search.
Also, some hardware requires to be connected to the computer before you install the driver, other must be connected only after. Be sure to follow the manufacturer recommendation.

Thanks for the advice. The mobile scanner is the stick like model. As far as scanner driver not being a part of the software installation I did not know that about these applications. I am pretty sure that I downloaded the new INSTALL from the NEAT website. I dId not see any separate guide to installing the driver scanner. Originally when I first did the install everything was in the disc download. The new iMac's lack the ability to use the disc. The reason for that is b/c MOST companies have all of their downloads and updates from their websites. If you do want that capability a separate unit is require for another $80.00. I declined to make that purchase.
Again thanks for the response and I will a more intense search. Regardless of what happens in my situation the POOR customer service is a real issue. No phone # to speak to a real person is one thing but not answering emails is a BAD business.
