Hi, Just wondering how fast this is - and if it works flawlessly - with other owners? I've got Kodi hooked up with a library of FLAC files - some 16/44 , 24 / 96 and even 24 / 192. Pretty much a full mismatch When changing songs with different sampling rates, sometimes it takes 5-10 seconds to switch and audio is heard. Other times, it won't switch at all and requires me to stop/start the track a few times before it switches. Is this normal and is there a way around this? Alternatively, I sold off my XDA-1 and XDA-2 ... so I'm thinking of finding the current owner of the XDA-2 and buying it back. Would this faster?

The DAC in the UMC-1 is pretty much equivalent to the XDA-1. The XDA-2 should sound a little better to you. Unless you need the features of a preamp, you probably would be better off with the XDA-2. The UMC-1 is notorious for delays, but that is mostly through the HDMI input.

It's the delay and changing to meet the signal that is the main thing bugging me ; not really the sound quality. I'd get the XDA-2 (if I can!) purely to not miss the 1st 10 seconds of the song

Try a different software package demo and see if it's on the player end. I use the dc-1 and different software, it takes the software a second or two to switch and load the flac track into memory... But it never hangs when switching bitrates. It should only be a brief pause. 5-10 seconds seems like a eternity
