Hello everybody
I have a friend with a similar setup as mine.
Processor XMC1 and MiniDsp.
Currently I am not using the Minidsp 8x8 as I have Dirac Live which should allow me to do the same as if I were using the MiniDsp.
He is quite happy using the manual eq of the MiniDsp after Dirac. Has anybody tried the same?
I believe that too much eq is bad for the system but I am curious as of ehat other people might think about this
Thanks in advance

I think EQing AFTER Dirac is a bad idea. Dirac also corrects the Phase behaviour of your Speakers, you mess with this when you use another EQ after running Dirac.
I would rather use the MiniDSP and THEN run Dirac, so Dirac can incorporate the Manual adjustments into the corrections. This shouldn´t be a Problem, in fact it it what happens all the time when you use active Speakers with Dirac since normally active Speakers not only have an active crossover but also use an EQ.

That was my thought as well but given the source that I have, HTPC with only HDMI, that is not possible at all.
Thanks for your comment
Ps. Well thought.... I can do it with JRiver

And you can also do it in many other ways. BEFORE just means the order in which you do the measurements, not the actual order the devices are connected in your Signal chain.
I also use a HTPC, the UMC-200 EQ and my DSP for my fully active front & Center.
