Hopefulyl people could help me out. I wish to provide my dad who is in another coutnry some quality audio. I will also send him an iPad to use it with. Now here's the rub. He is in his late 70's and very technology illiterate. Stuff like click the answer call button on skype appears to be beyond him using a PC. So is things like clicking in a text box and typing etc. So the idea is to get him a SIMPLE way he could enjoy Youtube videos and maybe radio stations like Pandorra with decent audio quality. Things like random dialog boxes like "activate wifi?, yes, no" are huge stumbling boxes for him asd it is all greek. Hence the iPad and its voice control. So does anybody have some advice for VERY easy to use tech that allows a decent multimedia experience. My plan right now: Airmotiv 3b via bluetooth to iPad Air 2. 240V country. Plugs look like this. I could purchase him a simple adapter for the plugs. He will voice search Youtube to get his videos. ANd play them by touching the picture of the video. This may be a somewhat steep learning curve for him but once he gets the idea I think he may be able to use it consistently. So the questions: How is bluetooth on the airmotiv? is it complicated? Does it sound awful, I heard some strange reports of a humm? The way this would be used, would this provide a realistic solution? This will be used in a 240 V country. Also: I suspect a set of headphones or in eawrs may work better. But is there an easy solution for a headphones (with a good dac)?

Bump! Okay so maybe the thread title should be different. I found something a little bit simpler. The V-Moda wireless (bluetooth) headphones! How great is that! There is no cord! It's high quality. And has a rechargeable battery. EVEN more amazing....it has a microphone in it! So it's perfect for calls with my dad. Which is great because I didn't want to confuse him with two different devices - a bluetooth ear piece and these headphones! www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Wireless-Over-Ear-Headphone/dp/B015R7AGHCUnfortunately the rub. It's $300. Ouch! That's pretty steep for its purpose but I guess if the sound quality is good it may be worth it. V-moda has been reviewed well on this forum. SO I am interested in hearing people's comments. The goal is to pair it with an iPad air 2 and use it for Facetime, Pandora, and Youtube music videos. Anybody have ideas or experience with this? hemster

Well you probably after spending on good Bluetooth speakers and headphones about the same. Following the simple rule. One device that will do it all allot of times will be easier rather than 2. Depends on your Dad's comfort, and your ability and patience to communicate, and demonstrate what is new to him.
Allot of times the tech can seem daunting. But with patience, practice, learning in small steps, it is okay. I teach people who are lucky to find the power button on their coffee maker how to print, scan, and email from the comfort of their desk.
So yeah it can be done. It is up to you what tech will make sense since you know your Dad best. If it were me, one device with all tech needed in it is usually a better way to go. Your mileage may vary though.

garbulky , while I don't have experience with the V-Moda Bluetooth set, I can tell you the build quality likely is excellent. I'm basing that on their LP2 headphones I have. I also have enjoyed their bassfreq metal noise cancelling in-ear ear buds. These have a 3 button remote mic. These are perfect for exercising or general use. I'd say you'll have a great experience with this brand.

Garbulky, Here's a cheaper alternative from Monoprice. I can't comment on them one way or the other, but there are a bunch of reviews... linkI'm sure there are other brands/models in a price range you're more comfortable with.
