Well, I've had my XPA-3 for almost 2 weeks now and I feel I can give a pretty honest opinion thus far. 1. Ordering and customer service are first class,(as those who have purchased Emotiva equipment know). Shipping was fast and emails were prompt. 2. Amp was well packaged, as others have stated in their reviews. 3. Setup was easy, I am using the XPA-3 with my Marantz sr4002 to power my L/C/R speakers, surrounds off the receiver. The improvement over the receiver's sound is surprising! I thought the Marantz did a good job on it's own, but the XPA-3 just added the "punch" and headroom the internal amps couldn't supply. Anyone debating on picking one of these babies up, DO NOT HESITATE! This is my first amp purchase, but I do not think you will be disappointed! Now, if only I can persuade the wife to let me begin the speaker upgrade. Thank you to everyone at Emotiva for the great service and quality products at a great price! Grady Alexander

Thanks Grady! I have the Marantz SR5002 but I've yet to hear it in action since I haven't had a TV in my secondary HT to view the OSD for the set-up menus. Our daughter and 11-month old grandson moved in with us a week ago and she brought her 37" LCD set with her. I'm gonna use it until I find a 50" plasma which fits my needs and budget.
I plan to add the 6.2's and the XPA-3 to the system very soon so I read your review with great interest. I went with a Marantz AVR based on their reputation of excellent SQ. I'll be doing the same thing as you...only using the 5002 to power the surrounds.

You won't be disappointed pairing the XPA-3 and 6.2's with your sr5002. I specifically went with the sr4002 because of Marantz's quality, plus I wanted an affordable receiver w/ pre-outs that would accept multi-channel pcm from my PS3. Mine has plenty of power for the surrounds, blends really well with the front speakers. I'm really having to fight the urge to pick up a pair of 8.3's!
