Hey there everyone, my question is about routing my digital sources through my system after I add the Oppo 103D. My soon to be replaced Oppo 93 does not have the video processing ability that the newer model does. I will be using cable and perhaps a PS3 as video sources. I want to run the cable and the PS3 through the Oppo so that I can use the Darbee processing. Easy, but how do I best route the audio and video from the Oppo?
Would you recommend separate hdmi cables to my UMC 200, splitting audio and video signals, or just the one? Should I route the Oppo video direct to the monitor and only process the sound through the UMC? The room correction on the preamp has always worked quite well for me, and I would hear the loss in both movies and especially music listening. So I am not keen at all to ditch the UMC 200. Since the preamp has video pass through, I am thinking that passing the audio through the UMC 200 while routing the video direct to the tv is just begging for Sisyphean lip synch headaches.
What would you suggest?
Thanks!
Trey

You are experiencing the exact reason I bought a Darbee Darblet.

Would strongly recommend routing video out from the Oppo 103D to your TV.. Let the UMC-200 decode the audio from the Oppo HDMI out for audio. You can try with just 1 HDMI to see how it works for you too. I ran my Oppo separately audio and video.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your advice. I will try the separate hdmi runs first and see how bad or not the synch issues might be.

OK, so the Oppo 103D arrived and is currently pumping out audio and video chez Trey. I used your excellent suggestions and ran separate audio and video hdmi cables. The UMC switches the video sources and sends the feed into the back hdmi input on the Oppo. It looks fabulous.
Really, Netfliz and Amazon Prime now look much closer to Blu-ray sources. My wife loves the improvement. The only down side is that the PS4 looks marvelous, but is laggy. No problem as it is going to a back room soon. Overall, the improvements due to the Darbee process in our home is killer.
Save up!
