Hey guys,
As per my other thread I am a new XMC-1 owner.
I'm running JRiver MC 21 on my HTPC with HDMI connection for movies. I have disabled bit streaming in MC so I can use the video clock and this means I am sending multi ch pcm to the XMC-1. Atm I am using direct mode which enables Bass management speaker distances etc but it do s not allow for use of Dirac. When I eventually start using dirac what mode could I use for multi ch pcm?
Thanks

Thanks geebo, pages 12-15 of the manual cover audio modes but dont seem to mention what happens when surround mode is selected (eg what bass management, eq's trims and whether Dirac is available unless I'm missing something?

Surround mode will use all the speakers you have ie 5.1, 7.1, 3.1 etc. as setup in your speaker setup. Bass management is used. It will properly play whatever surround mode and codec you're using. DTS, Dolby, or PCM. Dirac can be used in conjunction with Surround Mode and does very well.
