Keep in mind that the power meter in the above schematic is at BEST, advisory. The loading resistor is based on YOUR speakers being a resistor. That is of course, not the case.
A NOMINAL 8 ohm speaker may be from 4ohms or perhaps lower, to 16 ohms. Some examples may be worse. Some speakers spend a LOT of time at impedances OTHER than the 'rating'.
This means that your meter will tell you SOMETHING, but not really 'watts'.
