The XPA-5 was my first introduction to Emotiva power amplifiers back when it was first introduced, from there I was hooked.

Me too, I was two weeks into a Sherbourn PA-5 when the XPA-5 hit the streets, I returned the Sherbourn only because the Emo was of a newer style. Definitely nothing wrong with the PA-5 but I'd just found this company and wanted the latest and greatest! I still have the greatest multi - channel amp!

Definitely nothing wrong with the PA-5 but I'd just found this company and wanted the latest and greatest! I still have the greatest multi - channel amp! I had just sold a Carver AV-705x to a Carver junkie and was looking at new multi-channel power amplifier offerings. I had been lusting over the IPS-1 and when I waited too long they no longer carried the IPS-1 so I called Emotiva and talked with Lonnie and I was easily sold on the XPA-5. If I didn't have an XPR-5, I'd still have the XPA-5 in the home theater.

I snapped up one of the few remaining ones. The day it was going to be delivered, I was 'working' from home, with windows open, waiting for the UPS truck. There were a few false alarms, but eventually the UPS truck came. I opened the garage door, and raced outside with my dolly to greet him on the sidewalk. You should see the big smile on his face when he hauled out the package and saw me with the dolly on the sidewalk. We gently placed it on the dolly, and I carefully rolled it into my garage. Suffice to say, my XPA-5 did not suffer any heavy handling on its last leg of the journey. I hope it lives a long a prosperous life!

Started with a upa5 on some 98db speakers, was very happy. Got a good offer on my upa amps and sold them and was looking for a replacement. Got my xpa5 and was blown away with the better dynamic sound, best amp I have ever owned. It will be around for a long time.

I just posted one on the Emporium. New in box. Bought it and decided not to use it. I ordered a Gen3 2 channel instead. I use a Definitive SSA 50 sound bar for my system with a DIY sub. Decided the 5 channel XPA was too much overkill for this system. Going to use the 2 channel Gen3 for my music speakers on zone 2. Should work well.
