I'm having a recurring problem with my 18 month old XPA5. Recently it has been going into standby mode after about an hour of operation. After about an hour there is a "pop" noise from the right surround speaker and subsequently the blue lights go out, a red light flashes and the unit goes into standby (all sound is lost). Pressing the power button restarts the amplifier and it functions normally for a time before repeating the above cycle. I would appreciate comments from anyone with a similar problem and the corrective action they took to remedy this. Thanks

I would try running it for a time with the speakers completely disconnected and see if it still does it.

I have not had any problems with mine, but here is what I would do 1- turn off, unplug wait 20 secs & replug & pwr on. 2- try another speaker on that channel- preferably 8 ohm. 3 check the heat compared to what it usually feels like. 4- Check your wiring for any shorts or insulation problems 5- disconnect the speaker channel that is failing & run without it and see if it continues to fault out.
I bet that channel is going 'thermo' & needs Emo to repair it.
