No reviews on the new generation of amplifiers is a suspicious case Why? It's barely been out a month, only a small percent of Emotiva customers post here in the lounge, and often if someone's happy with a product they have nothing to say. Because very few want to write about this new amp you're going to call it 'suspicious'? Not enough controversy around here for you?

Hey guys, i have my XPA-3 Gen 3 for about 4 weeks now, i never had older gen of XPA so i cant compare, but i have pair of SA-250s, SA-250 sounds crazy good, so much details, sound is clean and detailed, XPA sounds pretty close, very clean, bass is very tight and punchy, i personally love how it sounds and both SA-250 and XPA gen3 dont even get warm, they just stay totally cool, Here are some pictures i have of them www.blu-ray.com/community/gallery.php?member=gecka78&folderid=1454#162793Nice setup bro!!! I have recently acquired a pair of JBL S-590, and Have them powered via a pair of XPA-100 Gen2, also using an XDA-2 Gen-2/USP-1 in the setup, and I can't get over how beautiful they sound,.... The best 2.0 setup I have ever had. I m not sure if, or how much better would the sound improve if I move to a Gen-3 XPA, but I don't believe they can get any better then my current setup. Congrats on a beautiful set up.

All I know is that everyone being built is pre-sold. We haven't been able to get ahead of the orders to build up stock of the popular models like the 2, 5, & 7.
I take that as a good sign!!
I've spent a lot of time with these amplifiers and they're spectacular. I wouldn't worry about sound quality or power output.

I want to explain in advance that I'm a big fan of products Emo. Although I live in Poland I chose the products Emo.I took a chance to bring Xpr-1, and I think this is the best my purchase.I think that they have no competition, even at a price three times higher Perhaps soon I expect reviews for amplifiers 3 gene, but nowadays opinions advertising must appear quickly - the competition is not sleeping. I am glad that in Poland is an official partner "SoundClub" I hope that soon we read professional reviews in Polish magazines. I hope for a great success of the new generation of products, and I hope that soon buy. p.s. Sorry for language errors

I also own the XPR-1s and I agree with you that they are great amplifiers. Personally I think the flagship XPR-1s are in a class by themselves. While I'm sure the gen 3 amps are great I don't think they were designed to compete with or out do the XPR line. I too am not trying to be negative but just realistic. The products are designed at two separate price points and I believe that they are targeted for different applications. If Emotiva was still making XPR-1s I'd buy another pair to biamp with them. But I won't buy gen 3s because they wouldnt give me a major sound quality upgrade. I too am on the edge of my seat for a detailed review or comparison of Gen 3 vs Gen 2. I've read the marketing material but haven't heard any objective A/B tests against the Gen 2. While I don't doubt the technology has improved as an audio consumer I look forward to those reviews to help me decide whether to invest in a new piece of gear. Just my thoughts. Hope to see some reviews soon.

Yes it does. I think there is a huge potential there and I'm surprised nobody has posted a direct comparison of Gen 3 to XPR or Gen 3 to Gen 2. It's exciting to read the specs and technical stuff but it would be useful to potential customers to read reviews highlighting the sonic improvements or differences between the lines.
Im not a kool aid connoisseur but I know that I really like my XPR 1s and my XSP-1. They sound great together and Im optimistic that the new generation will improve upon gen 2. Hoping for some reviews and some objective comparisons hands-on not theoretical stuff.

Well, I just connected my XPA-2 Gen3 today. It arrived in perfect condition, double boxed, encased in foam and wrapped in a cloth bag.. very impressed so far. The sound, so far as I can tell is utterly amazing. The noise floor is lower and blacker than anything I've heard since the Mark Levinson No.33's 20 years ago. I was bi-amping from x4200w and am now bi-wiring from the XPA. This amp has so much more control and authority of the speakers. Now, I've only been running the RTia7's for two days so they are FAR from broken in. The first 5 minutes I was playing them from the Denon I thought they were defective they sounded so bad, then they opened up magically. I am sure they will continue to and am also sure this amp will continue to blow me away... oh, also I ran it for a few hours and my PlayStation, Denon, and cable box were 2-3 times hotter. And I wasn't using any amps in the AVR... the XPA almost felt too cool to believe it was even running.

Good to hear your experience with the amp! Congrats on the new edition to your system. Actually the denon receivers are notorious for running hot (amps driven or not). Hopefully your insight and review will help others considering the new gen 3. Sounds like a winner
