A500 - Input 1 and 2 will be Left channel (Use splitter from preamp) Input 3 Center channel (non-bi-amped) Input 4 and 5 will be Right channel (Use splitter from preamp) Then hook up speaker cables to each speaker terminals. Done.

Does anyone know if I can run a Basx A-300 in monoblock mode? If so what would the total watts be per channel @ 8ohms?

It would be the two channels put together. However you shoudl know that running it off a single channel will give you more power than the single per channel rating. Not necessarily ALL the power but it will be more.

I am running a BasX 300 just fine to drive what is the equivalent of a center channel speaker that plays continuously in all channel stereo mode. I am running a second Bas X 300 to drive a pair of in ceiling speakers. The setup works beautifully.

Can you provide a little bit more of that set-up detail? Thanks

Yes, I only have one channel in use. I have the RCA from my preamp that the DefTech DI 5.5 LCR is hooked up to as the center channel input into one of the channels on the Bas X and then the speaker leads for that speaker hooked up to the same channel that the RCA is going into on the Bas X. Nothing special, no bi-amping or anything like that, just using one channel of the amp, and since it is the equivalent of a center channel speaker it is driven in stereo mode.

I am using an older Marantz SR7002 as my preamp, its rated for 110 WPC @8 Ohms. I purchased am Emotiva BasX A-300 and was wondering if using the A-300 to power my towers would be better than using just the Marantz SR7002? Also does anyone know if Emotiva charges to ship a product back if you are within the return policy?
Thanks.

I think there are quality gains available if you bi-amp your speakers. The channel separation will be an added bonus as well.

I would put *any* Emotiva amp over *any* receiver out there (until Krell/Classe/Levinson start making receivers, no receiver's amp section performs as well as Emo's amps - IMHO, of course), and would definitely drive your mains with the Emo amp. This goes from their old LMC, to any of UPA's, to any XPA/XPR, and to any BasX (I think that's all of them).

I will keep the BasX A-300 and soon upgrade my towers from Polk Monitor 75T to KEFQ700's. Anyone know what the KEF's sound like with Emotiva amps? I have yet to audition them and I want to stay in the price point of the KEFQ700's. Rocommendations are welcome.

What price range is that? Normally the KEF's are $750 a piece but right now there is a sale and they are $500.
