I would love to tell you what they sound like but ended up cancelling my order. Paid for an XPA-2 back in January at my local HiFi store but gave up after 4 months of waiting and countless lies from them about when it was going to arrive.

I just ordered one yesterday and got the reply back from sales that my order had been accepted. I'm just waiting for it to be assembled and shipped. I configured it for 5 channels.

Had one ordered through a dealer since 5/3. Been getting the run around from Emotiva. I may go another direction as well.
Sad as I am interested in what they are doing with the Gen 3.

Better be careful with newly developed products. The same applies to cars/new models. But it may be a "simple" manufacturing issue (poor supply vs high demand, let's hope at least)!

And yes, maybe only a fraction of the gen3 owners join the Lounge immediately... The may be completely new Emotiva customers. However I miss some hands-on experience with the gen3 amps (quite a long time has passed since launch). Peace.

Wow...sorry to hear a dealer took you money in January when the gen 3's were not even available then. FYI, if you buy directly from Emotiva, they will not charge you until it ships. And, they will not even take an order until production is imminent, and they will not quote ship dates now until they are quite firm. Make sure Emotiva knows which dealer you were dealing with. Mark

I order one today directly from Emotive. I'm expecting shipment within 7 to 10 days. I'm a little nervous because it is a new design and I haven't been able to find many reviews on the product. I'm hoping for the best. Emotiva has a great reputation.

I would adjust your expectations. 7-10 days is dream land currently.

Received my new Gen 3 amp on Friday, along with a xsp pre amp, matched up to b&w cm10 for a two channel system. My first post as a new Emotiva owner. I have been lurking for awhile but took the plunge and purchased. While I am not an expert by any measure, I have owned a lot of equipment over the years, but the new gen 3 (and the xsp-1 gen 2) sound amazing, The quality and attention to detail is obvious and the sales support throughout was great. I was told on ordering that it would be between 10 and 15 days to build and ship the gen 3; it took 21 days and they kept me informed with a countdown two days to go! Overall, very happy customer. I am now considering updating HT setup as well and will wait and see when the Emersa range comes out.

ianmiddleton - Thanks for that information! How do they sound compared to previous equipment you've owned?

ianmiddleton, welcome to the lounge. As your amps break in, please keep us informed of any other thoughts.

Good to see ianmiddleton received his amplifier.
I've been waiting over 46 days for a Gen 3 XPA-7.
Anyone else get theirs? I'm thinking of going in another direction.

Whenever the new Gen 3 mono blocks come out I plan to get a pair for my CM10s for front & keep the McIntosh for the other 7 channels. I am sure the Emotiva sounds sweet with your B&Ws
