Or that some folks want new with the feeling it is pristine with no flaws at all. I am with you Nick most of the time. You can save big with refurbished. As long as the support, and all is good with the item. Golden. I bought a Smith and Wesson used for cheap, it was powdered fouled big time. Took 4 hours to clean it out completely, some due to my OCD, but mainly for proper reliable function. Turned out I didn't like it, and went to something else, but otherwise it is the only blip on my bargain hunting refurbished factory renewed hunts. I love saving money, and getting what I want. Everybody wins.

Many times refurbs are factory firsts that manufacturers sell at a discount but label them as refurbs so as not to undercut their dealer pricing. Basically a sale designed not to aggravate their dealers. I would suspect many times Jadedesign does this with remaining new stock of various models (i.e. XPA-100) that they lower the price and the warranty vs. having a sale and reducing the 'perceived' price-value of the item.

My XMC-1 arrive yesterday in supreme condition, no blemishes whatsoever. I believe my XPR-5, XPR-2 and some of my mini 100's are all refurb.
Let the fun begin
