Hi, I have my xmc-1's zone 2 connected to a rotel 80w/channel amp, running my outdoor speakers and a pair of spare indoor speakers. I cannot seem to get much volume on this zone at all. Need to set the volume to 0db just to have it audible. Am I missing something in the connections here?

Any mixdown settings are off ? The manual should say whether the digital out is fixed level or variable .. An owner will have a better idea

Something is wrong, I set the volume level for zone 2 approximately the same as the main, around -35dB

Hi, thanks for the replies. I think it has something to do with the satellite decoder source. I can play a cd through analog on zone 2 and volume is normal. For some reason whe I move to satellite the volume disappears. Will keep tinkering.

Yes, agree on source level, at 0 dB my Zone amp is pretty much at full steam, of course each amp will have a different sensitivity and gain.

Some sat boxes have a volume control on the remote. Make sure that is turned up.
