Ok ! getting better ! All in one is very good. This with the BasX speakers or Airmotiv passives will make a killer budget system. I can see many young people just getting there feet wet with audiophile level gear enjoying this. I say audiophile level because like Boom has been saying recently, this new gear will sound great. I know because my Ultra gear sounds great and when Dan says they were able to improve on that I believe him. His word has been good so far.

One hundered dollars adds a good internal amp to the PT-100, pretty good deal! Slap some speakers on it and away you go! Great entryway to a better sounding world! Save some money over time and add more amp if you require it, sweet.

... STEREO PREAMP/DAC/TUNER WITH INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER Ha! Anything to keep from calling it a receiver.

Too bad a more powerful receiver is not in the works. One with more inputs, possibly balanced. I think a lot of people would be interested in a competitively priced stereo receiver. Not everyone has space for separates.
I don't think it would be a bad idea to offer a stereo receiver plus one with 5 or 7 channels, the more variety you offer the more customers you can attract.
A TA-100 combined in a single chassis with either an A-300, A-500 or A-700 doesn't sound like it would differ much from the now extinct Fusion. My two cents

... STEREO PREAMP/DAC/TUNER WITH INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER Ha! Anything to keep from calling it a receiver. It's an integrated amp with a DAC and tuner built in, but calling it a "receiver" would be a disservice to the level of quality in the product because the insinuation is plainly low-end. Our high-end competition is calling these units Integrated Amplifiers, and our built-in amplifier (which lives on a separate, isolated board) peforms at or above the level of the competition, so it makes perfect sense for us to do the same. The waning relevance of radio for many customers makes the tuner a "bonus" feature rather than a defining feature of the product, but having a tuner will make it useful in certain situations like commercial music systems in restaurants and stores. And the performance is top-notch; you really have to hear what 50 real watts (or 90 into 4) can do with a larger speaker like the Airmotiv T1s.

It looks like a excellent combo unit for a starter 2-channel system with relatively sensitive (aka efficient) speakers, 6-8 ohms impedance. It would IMO be classified an entry level component. On the big plus side it has a subwoofer output! Many out there still use OTA FM stereo. For me on the other side is it has fairly low output into 4 ohms (90 watts, 1kHz at 1% THD --- that's clipping level. I would prefer if it put out 75 watts, 1kHz into 4 ohms, 0.2%, as 90 watts at clipping is useless to me, but it fools lots of folks like above). Using a powered sub would be a big plus and put less amp strain on the lower bass output from the speakers. I'll be interested to see if Emo does an AP test on it (I doubt it since none of the BASX have so far, with the high clipping THD reference into 4 ohms). Three year non-transferable warranty. A good alternative choice would be to go with the TA-100, correction PT-100, powered sub and an outboard power amp.

Does the TA 100 have a similar sonic signature as my XSP1/XPA2 Gen2? I'd like to buy one for each of my 3 grown sons with possibly Elac B6s, PSB Alphas, or Airmotive 6s. I love the sound of these amplifiers and am hoping the smaller pieces share the same sonic palette.

Depending on the speakers which I've never heard and the room size as well. The TA-100 will not drive some speakers like the XPA-2, nor will it achieve the volume in a largish room. But sound quality, I enjoy mine very much in my spare room. It doesn't approach my dedicated two channel but i could live with it, especially if I wasnt an audio snob.
