EMOFEST INFORMATIONOkay folks, here it is. We've been partnering with the Embassy Suites and Hyatt Place for accomodations.
The Embassy has a sports bar and grill, cooked to order morning breakfasts, indoor pool, gym, and a shuttle to the office.
The Hyatt has a 24 hour food service available, continental and cook to order breakfast, outdoor pool gym, and shuttle to the office for an additional $5 dollar charge to the room total.
I've been to both, eaten at both, enjoyed both. It's your personal preference and price range.
Embassy: 615.515.5151
Hyatt: 615.771.8900Tell them you're with us, they'll hook you up. Feel free to check around other places if you so like. I'd personally try to stay away from 96 but stay more towards the Cool Springs area. There are a lot more things to do there, etc. These hotels are our favorites and we wouldn't send you somewhere we wouldn't want to be ourself!
ALSO, if you're trying to convince the wife to make her way down here too... there is a LOT to do in the area. (i.e. Shopping)
Franklin is conveniently situated right outside of beautiful Nashville, TN. (About 15-20 minutes south of downtown.)
What better place to come check out your favorite audio company than Music City, USA! Nashville became known as Music City when the traveling singers from Fisk University (one of the first African American higher education schools) toured to England. The singers were trying to raise enough funds to save their financially destitute university and coincidentally were in the right place at the right time to sing for the Queen. After hearing them, the Queen exclaimed that the sound was so melodious these singers must be from City of Music.
Nashville also became the forefront of education when it became home to many universities early in its history. Thus Nashville became known as the Athens of the South and a replica of the Parthenon is built off of downtown's Broadway.
So, come to EmoFest, come to Nashville, come experience a great city that is well known for more than just country music (although we do that really well too
) The EmoStaff would also be more than happy to tell you about our favorite places to eat, shop, and hangout. (There's plenty to do for the kids, too!)
So here it goes,
some of my Nashville recommendations:
Schermerhorn Symphony Center: (in the top 5 performance halls in the WORLD. even if you don't catch a concert there, a tour is worthwhile)
Baha Burrito: i love me a good burrito and this is THE place in Nashville
Green Hills Mall: Burberry, Tiffany's, Louis Vitton, Coach, and more...
Broadway: offers all the honkey-tonkin' you could ever want. fun for the kids during the day with BBQ joints and other eateries, as well as gift shops, etc. and then at night popular hot spots would be Tootsies, The Stage, Second Fiddle, and more....
Las Paletas: this homemade popsicle shop is situated right in the heart of 12th south village and has been featured on Throwdown with Bobby Flay. the kids will love it. (there's also a park across from it to take the kids to)
Pancake Pantry: if you're willing to bear the line in the morning (or get up early enough to miss it) this is my FAVORITE pancake place
Pfunky Griddle: if you don't want to wait in the Pancake Pantry line, let me suggest this little Berry Hill gem. Bring the kids and let them choose their own pancake topping when they make their own pancakes with the pre-prepared batter brought to your table to use on your in-laid griddle in the table
(can you tell i like to eat since a majority of these are restaraunts)
Jackson's: next to the Pancake Pantry is the home of the famous Cookie Dough Eggrolls. i don't even need to say any more.
Country Music Hall of Fame: downtown, right next to the Schermerhorn. never been there, but heard it's great.
Ryman Auditorium: historic, beautiful, a Nashville classic. original home to the Grand Ole Opry. now hosts a myriad of concerts throughout the year
Nash Trash Tours: I've never taken a tour of Nashville before but if I were to take one, from what I've heard, this would be it.
www.nashtrashtours.comParthenon: my favorite weekend running spot. not only does this park host a replica of the Parthenon with an extensive museum inside but it's also home to a mile running/ walking trail, pond with geese, and several open areas for outdoor games, etc.
Okay, so maybe a little extensive, but you get the point. I love Nashville. I love Emotiva. Come to EmoFest. If you have any questions. Ask. Need to figure out how to convince the wife. Jennifer, Cathy, and I got that covered.
Bottom line. RSVP to beth@emotiva.cominclude # attending and T-Shirt sizes
